Home Sweet Home

Home from the holidays.  We had a blast visiting Todd Sr, Amber, Molly, Daniel and little B!  A true Sain Christmas.  As being it was our first (and mine as a Sain) it couldn't have been better.  Amber made Christmas dinner complete with ham, rolls, mashed potatoes, green beans, and SUGAR FREE DESERTS!! What a sweet family we have.  It was delicious!

We made the trek back to Raleigh Sunday afternoon since we decided the weather might be worse if we left Monday after letting all the crushed snow and slush refreeze to ice.  It wasn't so bad of a drive but it may prove hard to get out of our driveway in the morning.  Hopefully everything will be fine with that but if we get snowed in it's ok since we have grocery's now.  (we decided not to get any before we left since we would be gone for a few days anyways and we needed them :D but we're stocked and good to go!)

It was so great to see family we hadn't seen in forever and we really missed seeing Mama Sain there but I'm sure her Cali Christmas was just as wonderful and event-filled as ours was.

We wish everyone a safety on the roads tonight and tomorrow and hopefully we won't add more to the 1,500 accidents that where reported to day do to the snow (we all know how we southerners can't drive in the snow) but totally worth it for a 8" snow WHITE Christmas! (my first ever!!)

Merry Christmas!!!

Very First White Christmas EVER!!!

We had our very first white Christmas.  Todd and I went to Hickory, NC (where Todd is from) for Christmas.  Duncan and Rusty rode the whole way there in back seat un-crated.  They did great we were very proud of them.  The 3 hour drive didn't turn into the disaster it could have been.

Once here we settled in and watched "Iron Man 2" which was really good by the way, then off to bed we went.  Christmas Eve flew by.

Now the exciting news came Christmas morning.  When we woke up it had just begun snowing and the snow was coming down and a pretty decent rate.  It's 9:00pm and half a foot of snow later it's STILL SNOWING!!

The Sain boys (Todd Sr., Todd Jr., and Daniel) got a little creative and decided there were too many snowmen in the world but not enough snow women so they created a companion for the snowmen.  They also decided to make her anatomically correct... or as correct as you can for a snow woman,

Rusty made a new friend today!  Amber Ray's new puppy Maddie Jane took some time to warm up to the much older (and much more energetic) boys but once she did she found she made a new friend.  Those three were very entertaining to watch.  She's still not 100% sure what she thinks of them but for now she thinks their ok.

The Sain Family:

Todd, Emily, Rusty (the beagle) and Duncan (the lab).  That's our little family!!

We bought a small house in Garner and it's perfect.  It's got a fenced in back yard for the puppies and 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms for us.

Todd is currently in school perusing his degree in Aerospace Engineering and I work full time as the HR Manager at a small marketing firm in Raleigh.  Todd's favorite color is red and mine is green!  We're a little crazy but we make each other laugh we're good together and can't wait to share our lives with you!  So keep an eye out here and we'll let you know what is going on in our lives.
